OSTROLENK Partners to participate in PLI Patent Prosecution Boot Camp
OSTROLENK partners Robert C. Faber and Douglas A. Miro are part of the New York Faculty of the Practising Law Institutes Fundamentals of Patent Prosecution 2012: A Boot Camp for Claim Drafting and Amendment Writing. Mr. Faber, who is the current author of the treatise "Faber on Mechanics of Patent Claim Drafting," will serve as a lecturer and clinical instructor at the program. On September 30, 2010, Firm partner Robert C. Faber and Of Counsel Stephen J. Quigley were speakers at the 2010 Annual Meeting in Chicago of the Association of Patent Law Firms.
Mr. Faber moderated a panel that examined the current state of patentable subject matter following the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling in Bilski v. Kapos. Mr. Quigley presented "Avoiding Bad Faith and Fraud in the Trademark Rights Cycle."

Steven M. Hoffberg is partner of Ostrolenk Faber, LLP, New York, NY. Mr. Hoffberg is a member of the Bars of New York and Connecticut, registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and is admitted to practice before both federal and state courts. Mr. Hoffberg is an active member of the Licensing Executive's Society and a frequent speaker at its conferences.
Mr. Hoffberg attended the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, New York, NY, graduating with a J.D. Magna cum Laude, where he was a member of the Law Review. Robert C. Faber Panelist on: Bilski v. Kappos: Did the Supreme Court Get it Right? Landmark or Question Mark?
On July 1, 2010 Robert C. Faber, senior partner of Ostrolenk Faber LLP, was a distinguished panelist during a presentation on Monday’s U.S. Supreme Court Decision in Bilski v. Kappos. The presentation was hosted by the Association of Patent Law Firms ("APLF").
During the presentation, Mr. Faber discussed the path leading to the Decision and key findings. Mr. Faber also provided helpful suggestions for drafting patent claims in light of Monday’s Decision.

NEW YORK, NEW YORK - Michael Hurley, a well respected intellectual property litigator, has joined Ostrolenk Faber LLP, as a Partner.
Mr. Hurley focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation in cases involving the assertion and defense of IP rights, with a particular emphasis on patent litigation. He represents clients in jury and non-jury lawsuits, and has successfully taken cases through appeal in numerous actions.
Mr. Hurley has practiced as an intellectual property lawyer for more than 20 years, counseling clients in a wide range of industries and technical disciplines, including laser imaging, industrial materials, medical devices, agribusiness, pharmaceuticals and computer hardware and software. He advises clients on a variety of issues related to the acquisition, protection, and enforcement of intellectual property rights. Mr. Hurley also counsels clients concerning intellectual property asset management and licensing.
Mr. Hurley is formerly of McDermott, Will & Emery, LLP in New York, where he was a partner in the Intellectual Property, Media & Technology Group. He received his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law and a B.A. in Environmental Science, with distinction, from the University of Virginia.
